in the 2nd month of 1851 (date of print). | ||||||
The print was originally the left sheet of a triptych. | ||||||
The center of the sheet shows Nakamura Kanemon I as Yoichibei | ||||||
and Ichikawa Komazô VII as Senzaki Yagorô. | ||||||

Kuniyoshi Utagawa (1797-1861) was one of the last great masters of the
Japanese ukiyo-e style of woodblock prints and painting.
