Akershus Fortress (Norwegian: Akershus Festning) or Akershus Castle
(Norwegian: Akershus slott) It is a medieval castle that was built
to protect Oslo, Norway's capital.
It is not known exactly when the construction of the castle started
but it is believed to have happened in the late 1290s, under King Håkon V.
Kristofer Eriksen (1889 - 1962) was a Norwegian painter.
